Why should I choose an IB education for my child?

The International Baccalaureate Programme is a comprehensive programme of education from ages 3 - 18. The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a recognized leader in the field of international education, encouraging students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens

The programmes (PYP, MYP and Diploma Programme) are modelled after educational systems from around the world, without being based on any particular one, incorporating both the breadth offered by some as well as the early specialization offered by others. In essense, it takes the best of the best , combines it with international best practices and current educational research and produces a system of education that has been recognised by many of the world’s top universties. The IB diploma is now being given special entrance status in a number of Canadian and international universities with IB graduates receiving enhanced services such as IB entrance scholarships, prioirty course and housing registration, IB faculty advisors, and specialized courses that recognise the enhanced talents and training of the IB student.

Much of students’ work is project centered, interdisciplinary, and involves a great deal of critical thinking. Students learn in a framework of relevant and challenging experiences. They learn to seek knowledge through discovering who they are; where they are in time and place; how to express themselves; how the world works; and how they share the planet. They develop their love of learning not through being given the right answers, but through acquiring the ability to ask the right questions. They develop not only their academic skills, but also their character.
