Camps for Every School Break
We offer enriching camps throughout the year, including Spring Break, Summer, Pro-D Days, and school closures. Programs are added seasonally, so check back often to be the first to know when new camps open. Our camps, starting in Kindergarten are open to all families: students from Aspengrove and from the wider community are welcome. See below for Pro-D and spring break camps—registration is now open!
Spring Break Camps
Make the most of Spring Break with a week of fun, learning, and adventure at Aspengrove! We’re offering a variety of engaging camps for Junior Kindergarten through Grade 7, including hands-on science, creative exploration, nature-inspired activities, and gymnastics with certified coaches. Whether your child loves experimenting, discovering the outdoors, or staying active, there’s something for everyone.
(Camps from Kindergarten – Grade 7 are open to the wider community. Junior Kindergarten camps are available to Aspengrove Preschool students only.)
JK: Mad Scientist – March 16–20
Step into our mad scientist lab and get ready for a fun filled week full of fun and exploration fit for a little scientist. Children will have plenty of opportunities to explore through hands-on experiments designed for our little learners.

JK: Around the World – March 23–27
Pack your bags and join us for a week of fun as we travel around the world all without leaving our beautiful campus. We will explore far out places through playful, hands-on activities designed for curious young minds.

K–5: Spring into Nature – March 16–20
Students will explore the wonders of nature and Spring through seasonal inspired crafts, active games and movement combined with creative STEM challenges. From planting seeds to fluttering like butterflies, each day is packed with discovery and imagination! Join us for a week of fresh air, creativity and springtime adventures!
Grade: Kindergarten to Grade 5

K–5: Spring into Easter Fun! – March 23–27
Come celebrate the season of growth and new life during Spring Break Week Two inspired by Easter and spring! Students will explore bright colours, spring weather, and Easter-themed fun through playful games, creative STEM challenges, silly science experiments, and hands-on art projects. From bunny-themed obstacle courses to colourful egg creations, there’s something to spark curiosity each day. Join us for a week full of learning, laughter, and Egg-cellent adventures!
Grade: Kindergarten to Grade 5

Grades 2–7: Come Play with Nanaimo Gymnastics – March 16–20
Led by certified coaches, our camps are designed to help participants improve their physical literacy and movement through gymnastics. Our team is committed to providing instruction in a supportive and safe environment. We learn best when we’re having fun, so you can expect gym games, crafts, and interactive educational activities each day. Weather permitting, we will also enjoy outdoor activities and games.
Note: A $17 per week Gymnastics BC Membership Fee has been applied to your camp selection. If you are already a member of Gymnastics BC, please apply the code GymBC at checkout to remove the membership fee.

Pro-D Day & School Closures
Looking for a fun and engaging option on Pro-D days or school closure dates? Aspengrove offers a variety of single-day camps for students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 7. From nature exploration and creative seasonal activities to hands-on science and engineering challenges, each camp day is designed to keep learners active, curious, and connected. Join us for a day of discovery, friendship, and fun!
JK: Little Sprouts – May 15, 2026
Dig in for a day of discovery! Children will plant seeds, explore nature, and join in a lively circle time that blossoms with new ideas. Our little sprouts will have plenty of opportunities to learn and grow together.

JK: Barnyard Buddies – May 26, 2026
Come on down to the farm! Through creative art, playful activities, and engaging stories, children will explore the wonders of the barnyard and meet their new farmyard friends.

K–5: Hearts & Hugs Day – January 30, 2026
Love is in the air, and we’re celebrating with a day full of friendship, fun, and heart-filled activities! Students will enjoy Valentine-themed crafts, kindness games, stories of love and caring, and a mini “Kindness Party” to celebrate friendship and fun in our community.

K–5: Strawbees – February 13, 2026
Join Nanaimo Science for a day where imagination meets engineering. We start with Strawbees, the flexible building tool that lets you construct amazing structures through fun challenges and creative exploration. Next, we will dive into the world of programming, mastering drag and drop code with Microbits through a series of engaging tutorials and games. Finally, we fuse these skills together! Learn how to use servos to connect your code to your physical creation, transforming simple Strawbees builds into incredible, reacting robotic inventions.

Join us for a joyful day of spring-themed adventures as we celebrate the season of sunshine and growth! Learners will enjoy creative crafts, exploring the outdoors with a nature walk or scavenger hunt, and get moving with playful games and group challenges. It’s the perfect way to soak up the fresh air, stay active, and welcome spring with friends and fun.

Gr 3–7: Environmental Science – May 15, 2026
Step outside with Nanaimo Science and explore the environment using the power of technology. We will use tools like anemometers to make scientific observations and collect real data about the weather. This engaging day includes a critical look at human impacts on the environment, where we will run our own hands-on oil spill intervention experiment. Plus, sharpen your identification skills using INaturalist on a guided nature walk where you will create your very own personalized nature guide.

Gr 3–7: Exciting Engineering – May 22, 2026
Nanaimo Science invites you to a dynamic day designed to hone your skills as a master engineer. You will face a gauntlet of imaginative challenges where creativity is your greatest asset. Build a boat that can float even the heaviest weight, construct towers engineered to withstand earthquakes, design amazing flying machines that can soar to the ceiling, and test different styles of paper airplanes to determine which can fly the best. There is no single answer here; only endless opportunities for you to design, test, and innovate.

K–5: A Day in Bloom – May 25, 2026
Let’s celebrate the beauty of spring with a day of discovery, creativity, and play! Students will dive into garden-inspired crafts, explore signs of spring through nature-based games and challenges, and enjoy active time outdoors with relay races, chalk art, or a spring-themed scavenger hunt. With a mix of hands-on learning and active movement, it’s the perfect way to soak up the season and let imaginations bloom.
