We offer enriching camps throughout the year, including Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer, Pro-D Days, and school closures. Our camps, starting in Kindergarten are open to all families: students from Aspengrove and from the wider community are welcome.

Keep the fun and excitement going over the holidays with Winter Break Camps at Aspengrove School! From hands-on science discoveries to high-energy cheerleading, there’s something for every young adventurer. Make new friends, explore new interests, and create unforgettable winter memories!
Our Kindergarten and older camps are open to the community, while Junior Kindergarten camps are exclusively available to current Aspengrove JK students.

Movie Magic with Nanaimo Science
Do you love movies? Do you wish you knew how they were made? Explore the behind the scenes magic with us as we explore green screens, animation, lighting, and so much more! Grab your popcorn because we’re bringing the movies to us! Together we will learn the technical side of making movies while also learning the science used as well!

Come catch some waves with Nanaimo Science – sound waves that is! Investigate the world of sound like never before with visuals, activities, and demonstrations that’ll show us how interesting the world of sound can be! Throughout the day, we’ll create soundwave simulators, investigate the patterns found in vibration, make our own sound effects, and more!

Jump, Stunt and Tumble with Royal Cheer Academy
Run, Stunt and Tumble! (No experience required!)
Get ready to jump, stunt, and tumble! Hosted by Royal Cheer Academy, this 5-day cheer camp gives athletes of all skill levels the chance to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading in a fun, safety-focused environment. Led by certified coaches, students will build strength, learn new skills, develop routines, and make lasting memories.
About the Coach
Coach Hailey brings over 10 years of competitive cheer leadership to the mat. Credentialed through BC Sport Cheer and Cheer Canada, Hailey focuses on proper body mechanics, athlete safety, and building positive confidence in every young athlete.

Ozobots
Join Nanaimo Science for a day of Ozobots! These little robots run off of colour based sequences to speed up, change directions, and even dance! We’ll start with some premade challenge tracks before the ultimate challenge – making our own! Put your coding prowess to the test as you create a mind boggling maze and code your ozobot to make it completely through!

Cozy Up & Create!
As the weather gets cooler, join us for a cozy day filled with imagination, comfort, and fun! Students will enjoy hands-on crafts, LEGO building, quiet reading corners, and sensory play. We’ll warm things up with a hot chocolate treat and enjoy a little music along the way. It’s the perfect day to relax, get creative, and connect with old and new friends!

Strawbees and Microbits
Building and technology can come together to make mind blowing creations! We’ll begin our day by learning how to code with our Microbits – small computers that use drag and drop coding! After familiarizing ourselves with the bots, we will introduce our Strawbees, a straw shaped building toy. When Strawbees and Microbits are used together you can end up making some amazing creations! I.e: a moving crane, a whale, a magic eight ball! Independent reading is a highly recommended skill for success for this Nanaimo Science Camp.
