As we near the end of summer vacation, the excitement and anticipation of a new school year is beginning to build.

Is this your first year attending Aspengrove School? Maybe you’re a returning student excited to get back into your school routine and see all of your friends! Or maybe this is your last year at Aspengrove School, with the excitement of graduation just around the corner.

Regardless of your situation, we’ve got a few tips and tricks to help you get prepared for the new school year. From purchasing new school supplies to adjusting your back-to-school schedule, read on for some useful tips!

  1. Purchasing New School Supplies

If you are feeling a little nervous about going back to school, splurge a little on your purchases! Purchase binders in your favourite colours, purchase coloured pens and pencils to make your note-taking more exciting, or get a cool new lunch bag or backpack to roll in the new year! Your new supplies will help take your mind off your nerves and help to get you excited to use them in your new class!

  1. Get Back into your School Routine

After two months of operating on a completely different schedule than that of school, easing yourself back into your school schedule will make the transition back to school easier. A great way to do this is to start setting your alarm clock to the time you would typically wake up at for a normal school day. That way when school starts, your body will already be adjusted to the earlier mornings.

  1. Plan Out Your First Day of School

A lot of the nervousness surrounding back to school can actually happen on the morning of your first day of school!

To avoid additional stress, pack your backpack and lay out the clothes you’ll be wearing to school the night before. Doing these tasks beforehand will help alleviate some of the stress you’ll feel on the morning of. That way, you can focus your energy on seeing your friends, your teachers, and celebrating the beginning of a new school year.

  1. Set Term 1 Goals

Term 1 will take place from the start of September until the end of January, so be sure to set some goals to help you stay on track and maintain focus throughout the term! These goals can be academic-related, sports-related, co-curricular related, you name it! Join a co-curricular like the Magic: The Gathering Club, try out for the volleyball team, ace your math class, or apply for a scholarship!

  1. Get excited!

Allow yourself to get excited to meet new friends, pursue new interests, learn new skills, and more! The first day of school should be a time for fun, excitement, and endless opportunities.

We are very excited to have all students back on campus soon! With many new and exciting changes in the works, we have a feeling this will be a great year!
