Program Feature
Service Experiences
Our commitment to developing the whole child is deeply embedded in our school culture, with service initiatives playing a central role. We encourage students to enhance their personal development by learning through experiences while giving back to their community. Students can choose from a wide variety of service projects, with opportunities for collaboration. Some recent examples of service projects include leading Black History Month initiatives, running a writing project with local seniors, implementing environmental initiatives, and designing and painting a mural on campus.
Program Feature
Critical Thinking
We are developing a groundbreaking new course that all of our graduates will take. In this course on critical thinking, students inquire into the nature of knowing and deepen their understanding of knowledge as a human construction. By examining global issues, students develop an interest in the diversity and richness of cultural perspectives. They critically reflect on their own beliefs and assumptions, leading to more thoughtful, responsible, and purposeful lives. All Aspengrove students will graduate Aspengrove with a Philosophy 12 credit.
Program Feature
Academic Writing
Learning to research and write well is an integral part of an Aspengrove education. In the Senior School, Aspengrove fosters the development of academic writing skills through seminars and workshops outside of class, preparing students for the rigorous demands of university-level research. Students engage in independent research projects, exploring areas of personal interest while strengthening their critical thinking, analysis, and writing abilities. This process provides invaluable experience in scholarly work. Many alumni credit their education with easing the transition to university by equipping them with the research and writing competencies essential for higher education success.
