
Aspengrove Studios is a dynamic dance training environment located on the Aspengrove School campus in Lantzville, welcoming dancers from across Vancouver Island.
Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support dancers at every stage of their journey, building strong technical foundations while nurturing confidence, creativity, and artistic expression. With expert faculty and structured training pathways, students are guided to the program best suited to their age, experience, and goals.

Foundations
For dancers ages 3–9, focused on building strong fundamentals, confidence, creativity, and a love of dance. Includes Ballet, tap, and modern. Includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern.
Dance Core
A competitive evening program for dedicated dancers seeking high-quality training and performance opportunities.
Includes Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, and Tap.
Ballet Academy
Our pre-professional daytime program, integrated with the academic schedule at Aspengrove School, trains dancers at a high level while pursuing a rigorous independent school education.
Admission to the Ballet Academy is based on a successful audition, along with a completed application to Aspengrove School.
Aspengrove Foundations Program
Our Foundations Program introduces young dancers to ballet and jazz in a supportive and inspiring environment, helping them build strong technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of dance.
Ages 3–5
Dancers ages 3 to 5 will enjoy ballet and jazz classes offered on Saturdays. These early classes focus on developing coordination, creativity, musicality, and classroom confidence through engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
Ages 6–7
Dancers ages 6 to 7 will take two mandatory ballet classes each week, with each class lasting one hour. These classes include the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exam syllabus as well as competitive choreography.
Dancers also have the option to enroll in additional weekly classes in jazz, modern, and tap. These optional classes include choreography that will be performed at competitions, with each class lasting one hour.
Dancers in this age group will attend two local competitions throughout the season.
Ages 8–9
Dancers ages 8 to 9 will take two mandatory ballet classes each week, with each class lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. These classes include the RAD exam syllabus as well as competitive choreography.
Dancers may also choose to take additional weekly classes in jazz, modern, and tap. These classes include competitive choreography and are each 1 hour and 15 minutes in length.
Dancers in this age group will attend two to three local competitions during the season.
Schedule and Tuition
All classes are $16 per hour. Dancers ages 6 and older attend weekday classes only, allowing families to keep weekends free.Aspengrove Dance Core Program
The Aspengrove Dance Core Program is designed for dedicated dancers seeking a higher level of training and performance opportunities.
Ages 10–12
Dancers ages 10 to 12 will take three mandatory ballet classes each week, with each class lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. These classes include the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exam syllabus as well as competitive choreography.
Dancers also have the option to enroll in weekly jazz and modern classes, each lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. These classes include choreography that will be performed at competitions.
Tap classes are available for dancers ages 10 and older and are held on Fridays. Each tap session includes 1 hour of technique training and 1 hour of competitive choreography.
Dancers in this age group will attend two to three local competitions, as well as one to two out-of-town competitions in either Vancouver or Victoria, for a total of four competitions during the season.
Ages 13+
Dancers ages 13 and older will take three mandatory ballet classes each week, with each class lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. These classes include the RAD exam syllabus as well as competitive choreography. One ballet class per week will include an additional 30 minutes dedicated to choreography.
Dancers may also choose to enroll in an optional fourth ballet technique class, as well as an optional pointe class offered weekly. The pointe class is 45 minutes in length and is scheduled alongside one of the weekly ballet class days.
Additional weekly jazz and modern classes are available, each lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. These classes include competitive choreography and provide further opportunities for dancers to develop versatility and performance skills.
Tap classes are available for dancers ages 10 and older and are held on Fridays. Each tap session includes 1 hour of technique training and 1 hour of competitive choreography.
Dancers in this age group will attend two local competitions, as well as one to two out-of-town competitions in either Vancouver or Victoria, for a total of four competitions during the season.
