Meet Ms. Ishii
For nearly 20 years, Yuko has been a caring and dedicated presence in Aspengrove’s Early Learning Centre. After first volunteering at the original Portsmouth campus in 2004, she officially joined the Infant and Toddler program in 2007 and has been helping children grow and thrive ever since.
What Yuko loves most about being an Early Childhood Educator is having a front-row seat to each child’s journey.
“Every day brings something new—from the smallest accomplishments to major developmental milestones. Watching a child persevere, master a new skill, and grow socially and emotionally is incredibly rewarding.”
She also treasures the unique way young children experience the world.
“I love listening to their perspectives and discoveries. Their curiosity, imagination, and the joy they find in the little things reminds me to see the world with wonder.”
When asked what she hopes every child takes away from their time in the Early Learning Centre, her answer is simple but heartfelt:
“Above all, we hope every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.”
After 19 years, Yuko continues to make a lasting impact by creating a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and build the confidence to take on new adventures.
