Meet Mr. Riendl
David has taught science, math, and physics for 16 years. He also introduced Ultimate Frisbee to Aspengrove many years ago and continues to coach the team.He sees the most rewarding part of teaching as the “ah-ha!” moments, when he can guide a student through a thought process that makes an idea click. “I know that most students will leave high school without a perfect memory of the method of solving genetic probability problems or how to factor polynomials,” he says,“but I hope students will leave my classes with a way to approach new challenges.”
What do you love most about your work?
“I appreciate the small classes at Aspengrove. This allows me to frequently check-in and connect with each of my students, which makes my teaching job more meaningful.”
What inspires you?
“I’m inspired by motivated individuals. When I see amazing work that people have clearly expressed a passion in, it gives me faith in what human beings can do.”
